We often long to be counted with the Hall of Faith from Hebrews chapter 11. Without faith, it is impossible to to please God. (Hebrews 11:6) The author of Hebrews goes on to list the names of great people of faith from the Bible beginning with Noah, Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Rahab, Gideon, Samson, Jephthah, David and Samuel and the prophets.

Often, I hear about the need for “Christian leaders” to transform their workplaces. We seem to think if we can get enough people who are in a position of leadership to use their influence, the message of Christ will spread. For almost 30 years, many ministries have tried to equip business leaders to walk in faith and transform their workplaces because these people are influential. They open doors and they can influence others to also live their faith.

I recently read Friend of a Friend by David Burkus and was challenged by the idea that diverse networks of friends create unique and challenging opportunities. The book contains great research and compelling stories about the importance of the relationships we have with our friends, and friends of friends.

While listening (twice, so far) to the audio book, I was challenged by how the principles in the book also applied to our faith networks.
